Musculo Skeletal Disorders

A). Frozen Shoulder:
Adhesive capsulitis (also known as Frozen shoulder) is a painful and disabling disorder in which the shoulder capsule, the connective tissue surrounding the gleno-humeral joint of the shoulder, becomes inflamed and stiff, greatly restricting motion and causing chronic pain. Pain is usually constant, worse at night, and with cold weather. Certain movements or bumps can provoke episodes of tremendous pain and cramping. The condition is thought to be caused by injury or trauma to the area and may have an autoimmune component.
Risk factors for frozen shoulder include diabetes mellitus, stroke, accidents, lung disease, connective tissue diseases, thyroid disease, and heart disease.

B). Post Operative Stiffness:

C). Arthritis (Osteo , Rheumatoid): Osteoarthritis (OA) also known as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease or osteo arthrosis, is a group of mechanical abnormalities involving degradation of joints including articular cartilage and subchondral bone. Symptoms may include joint pain, tenderness, stiffness, locking, and sometimes an effusion. A variety of causes—hereditary, developmental, metabolic, and mechanical deficits—may initiate processes leading to loss ofcartilage. When bone surfaces become less well protected by cartilage, bone may be exposed and damaged. As a result of decreased movement secondary to pain, regional muscles may atrophy, and ligaments may become more lax.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that results in a chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that may affect many tissues and organs, but principally attacks flexible (synovial) joints. It can be a disabling and painful condition, which can lead to substantial loss of functioning and mobility if not adequately treated.

D). Ankylosing Spondylitis:
Ankylosing spondylitis previously known as Bechterew's disease (or syndrome) and Marie-Strümpell disease, is a chronic inflammatory disease of the axial skeleton, with variable involvement of peripheral joints and nonarticular structures. It mainly affects joints in the spine and the sacroiliac joint in the pelvis. In severe cases, it can eventually cause complete fusion and rigidity of the spine. "Bamboo spine" develops when the outer fibers of the fibrous ring of the intervertebral disks ossify, which results in the formation of marginal syndesmophytes between adjoining vertebrae. It usually begins in the second or third decade of life and tends to occur more often in males.

E). Muscle & Ligment Strain :- Strains are a result of muscular-fiber tears due to over stretching or over loading. They are very painful. Although strains are not restricted to athletes and can happen while doing everyday tasks, people who play sports are more at risk of developing a strain.A sprain is the stretching or tearing of a ligament. Ligaments are the fibrous bands of tissue that connect two or more bones at a joint and prevent excessive movement of the joint. Most commonly twisting of ankle or back and hand may lead to sprains.
